MasterChef: The Professionals was battered in the ratings with the Seven Network claiming the top two spots on Tuesday night.

Packed To The Rafters made a triumphant return while My Kitchen Rules (MKR) was watched by an average of 1.647 million viewers to be No.1.

Starting its sixth season, Packed To The Rafters, which followed on from MKR, pulled 1.416 million viewers for second place.

MasterChef: The Professionals lagged into 10th spot with just 729,000 viewers.

The Network Ten reality show has slipped considerably since MKR started on Monday night and it will be under siege next Monday when The Block All Stars kicks off on the Nine Network.

The official ratings season does not start until Sunday, February 10.
