Hundreds of rabbits freed by burglars
Hundreds of rabbits escaped from a Victorian property after a group of people broke into a shed and let them loose earlier this month.
The shed on Ballan Road, Anakie, about 60km west of Melbourne, held about 1200 captive rabbits.
The group entered the unlocked shed sometime between 6pm (AEDT) on January 10 and 6am on January 11 and released the captive animals, according to Victoria Police.
Police are appealing for witnesses.
They said many of the rabbits were not found following the incident and probably would not survive.
