VOICE-OVER SCRIPT:

A GROUP OF MOURNERS MARCHED IN SANTA MARIA, BRAZIL, THE CITY SCARRED BY THE DEATH OF MORE THAN 230 PEOPLE IN A NIGHTCLUB FIRE OVER THE WEEKEND.

FOUR PEOPLE ARE NOW DETAINED IN CONNECTION WITH THE DISASTER.

BRAZILIAN POLICE HAVEN'T SAID WHO THEY'RE HOLDING, BUT BRAZILIAN MEDIA REPORTS THAT ITS TWO CO-OWNERS OF THE CLUB AND TWO MEMBERS OF THE BAND THAT WAS PLAYING WHEN THE FIRE BROKE OUT.

INVESTIGATORS SUSPECT THAT THE FIRE BEGAN WHEN THE BAND'S PYROTECHNICS SHOW IGNITED THE FOAM SOUND INSULATING MATERIAL ON THE CEILING.

WITNESS ACCOUNTS FROM INSIDE THE KISS NIGHTCLUB DESCRIBE HUGE CROWDS OF PEOPLE CRUSHING EACH OTHER AS THEY SEARCHED FOR EXITS, WHILE THE BUILDING FILLED WITH DENSE, DARK SMOKE.

THE CLUB HAD NO ALARM OR FIRE EXTINGUISHERS, AND ONLY ONE EXIT.

IT'S BELIEVED THAT TWELVE-TO-THIRTEEN HUNDRED PEOPLE WERE INSIDE.
