PROTESTS ARE BREAKING OUT AROUND EGYPT, A DAY AFTER PRESIDENT MOHAMMED MORSI DECLARED A STATE OF EMERGENCY.

POLICE FIRED TEAR GAS AT ROCK-THROWING PROTESTERS IN CAIRO ON MONDAY NEAR TAHRIR SQUARE.

PROTESTS WERE REPORTED IN SEVERAL OTHER CITIES LATE SUNDAY.

AT LEAST 50 PEOPLE HAVE BEEN KILLED IN RIOTING SINCE SATURDAY NIGHT.

THE UNREST BEGAN WHEN A COURT CONVICTED 21 PEOPLE AND SENTENCED THEM TO DEATH IN CONNECTION WITH A SOCCER RIOT ABOUT A YEAR AGO.

THAT MASSIVE RIOT LEFT 74 PEOPLE DEAD.

THE STATE OF EMERGENCY AND A CURFEW ARE SET TO LAST FOR 30 DAYS.
