Ronaldinho back for Brazil to face England

RIO DE JANEIRO (AP) — Ronaldinho and goalkeeper Julio Cesar have been called into Brazil's squad to face England in a friendly next month, but there was no room for Real Madrid midfielder Kaka.

Luiz Felipe Scolari announced the team on Tuesday, his first since being rehired as Brazil coach. The former Chelsea manager coached Brazil to its fifth World Cup title at the 2002 tournament in South Korea and Japan.

Ronaldinho, who now plays for Atletico Mineiro in Brazil after a successful career in Europe, is remembered by England fans for a long-range free kick that beat goalkeeper David Seaman and knocked their team out of the 2002 World Cup quarterfinals.

Kaka has been linked with a return to AC Milan during the January transfer window, after failing to secure a regular first-team slot in Madrid.

Cesar will meanwhile come up against familiar Premier League opponents in the friendly at Wembley Stadium on Feb. 6, having joined Queens Park Rangers at the start of the season.

The squad also contains several first-timers, including Bayern Munich defender Dante, Atletico Madrid defender Miranda and Lazio midfielder Hernanes.
