Russell and Lauryn Mark put the rooming controversy of the London Olympics behind them today by uniquely winning the national title in their respective events at the Australian shooting championships in Brisbane.
Russell won the double trap for the 13th time whilst Lauryn won the Australian ladies skeet title for the ninth time.
The pair made international headlines at last year's Olympic Games by criticising the Australian Olympic Committee's policy of not allowing married couples to room together in the Olympic village.
Russell will now compete at this year's first international world cup competition in Acapulco next month.
