Police in Alice Springs have arrested a 25-year-old woman who allegedly set a house on fire while four people were inside.

Officers were called to a home at Hoppy's Camp after reports of an assault around midnight.

They found the house alight and the woman lying unconscious in the front doorway.

Three police officers entered the house and helped four people leave before fire crews arrived to extinguish the blaze.
