The WA Greens have launched their campaign for the March state election and say they will be pushing for early morning free public transport.

Greens MLC Giz Watson says the party will focus on eight key policy areas, and they are transport, renewable energy, housing affordability, education, water, environment, mental health and employment.

"We will be releasing some exciting plans for solar energy in WA and simple cost effective initiatives to relieve housing stress and reduce traffic congestion," she said.

Ms Watson believes the electorate will welcome the push for free public transport before 7.00am, even though the policy is not costed.

"If we were the government we could cost that, and if we had the resources we could cost that," she said.

Ms Watson also believes voters are tired of political parties slinging mud at one another and resorting to personal attack and says the Greens will be focussing on policies and not personalities.

The major political parties are yet to officially launch their election campaigns.
