An anaesthetist who was sacked from Barwon Health in Geelong had told the Fair Work Commission he was singled out by his superiors.
Dr Mark Colson was sacked for billing irregularities and distributing emails to other doctors that Barwon Health has labelled disparaging, but an audit found he had actually undercharged for his services.
He told the hearing that he had previously complained to the Ombudsman about one of his managers for accepting business class flights to New York from a drug company.
He said his complaint had partially resulted in him being targeted by his superiors.
The anaesthetist says he wrote an email to colleagues explaining his situation because he wanted them to keep an eye on him because he felt he might accidentally kill a patient, as a result of his emotional state.
The hearing continues.
