Gannett rose $.10 or .5 percent, to $19.04.
New York Times Co. fell $.10 or 1.2 percent, to $8.40.
News Corp. fell $.09 or .3 percent, to $27.34.
Time Warner Inc. fell $.37 or .7 percent, to $49.24.
Viacom Inc. fell $.50 or .8 percent, to $59.58.
