ROME (AP) — Giancarlo Abete has been re-elected as president of the Italian Football Federation.

The outcome was widely expected as Abete, who has been in charge since 2006, was the only candidate.

Abete says "it will be my last mandate. After this, I won't stand again, because I believe in generational change. Moreover, at the next assembly, I will ask for a limit to be imposed of two mandates for each president."

Abete received 94.34 percent of the 256 votes at the assembly in Rome.
