The president of a Perth car club has had his licence suspended for life after he was caught hooning.

David Coxe faced the Armadale Magistrates Court today and pleaded guilty to three offences, including reckless driving.

A video was shown to the court of Coxe doing burnouts in front of a crowd of at least 30 people last January.

He was today sentenced to eight months in prison, but will only have to serve the term if he offends again within the next 12 months.

Coxe was disqualified from driving for life in accordance with the state's three strikes policy.
