The WA Farmers Federation has released its wish list for the upcoming election, calling on the major political parties to fight for the interests of farmers across the state.

The federation is asking for 10 issues to be addressed, including the expansion of the live export trade, the implementation of a salinity strategy and increased funding for rural roads.

The federation's Dale Park says it's crucial the needs of famers are met by whoever ultimately wins the election.

"We now have our demands and that of our membership out in the public sphere and we want answers from all sides of politics," he said.

"We will be writing to the major parties seeking meetings about their policies for the upcoming election and to discuss the needs and wants of the state's farmers.

"Gone are the days when it was simply Liberal versus Labor.

"All political parties including the WA Nationals and the Greens can have a say when the voting public is finding it hard who to vote for."
