VOICE-OVER SCRIPT:

OVERWRITE WITH SCRIPT HERE

VICTIMS' RELATIVES AND SURVIVORS OF LAST YEAR'S COSTA CONCORDIA SHIPWRECK TRAVELED TO ITALY'S GIGLIO (JEEL-EE-OH) ISLAND TO MARK THE ONE-YEAR ANNIVERSARY OF THE DISASTER.

32 PEOPLE LOST THEIR LIVES WHEN THE CRUISE SHIP RAMMED INTO A REEF, TOOK ON WATER -- AND TIPPED ONTO IT'S SIDE.

THE FORMER CAPTAIN IS ACCUSED OF MULTIPLE MANSLAUGHTER AND IS UNDER HOUSE ARREST.

BUT THE DECISION HASN'T BEEN MADE YET ON WHETHER TO INDICT HIM.

DURING THE DAY'S FIRST EVENT, PART OF THE ROCK THAT TORE A GIANT GASH IN THE CRUISE SHIP'S HULL WAS RETURNED TO THE SEA.

A CRANE ON A TUG LOWERED THE BOULDER WITH A MEMORIAL PLAQUE AFFIXED TO IT ONTO THE REEF OFF THE ISLAND.

RELATIVES OF THE DEAD THREW FLOWERS INTO THE SEA AND EMBRACED AS THEY WATCHED THE CEREMONY FROM A SPECIAL FERRY.

OTHER MEMORIAL EVENTS INCLUDED THE UNVEILING OF MEMORIALS TO THE VICTIMS -- A MASS IN THEIR HONOUR -- AND A MINUTE OF SILENCE SCHEDULED FOR THE EXACT MOMENT WHEN THE CONCORDIA SLAMMED INTO THE REEF.

THE CONCORDIA REMAINS ON ITS SIDE, GROUNDED OFF GIGLIO'S PORT.

OFFICIALS NOW SAY IT WILL TAKE UNTIL POSSIBLY SEPTEMBER TO PREPARE THE SHIP TO BE ROLLED UPRIGHT AND TOWED FROM THE ROCKS TO A PORT TO BE DISMANTLED.
